Aire Valley Psychology – About Us

Our clinical psychologists are highly qualified with over 6 years of core training, allowing them to work with a broad range of difficulties that clients may be facing. With specialist knowledge in psychological theory, we can offer a fully comprehensive assessment so that we can create an individualised understanding of your difficulties. From there, we formulate an evidence-based intervention programme using our extensive knowledge of therapeutic models, to provide a solution that is fully tailored to your specific requirements.

What Can You Expect from Us?

Our therapies are centred around our clients and their needs so we’re willing to work with people for as little or as much time as they need to overcome their difficulties. Our length of treatment usually varies from between 6-20 individual sessions. During sessions, you will always see the same psychologist and will typically meet on a weekly basis for 55 minutes at a time. Of course, there is no pressure to attend a set number of sessions; you are in control.

All sessions will take place in our Cottingley or East Morton clinics in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space. At your initial assessment, we spend time working out your unique goals, outlining potential therapies and really getting to know you.

If you require an urgent assessment or you feel your safety is at risk, we do not have the capacity to see individuals who require immediate support. If you are at risk of self-harm please see your GP, visit your local A&E department or speak to The Samaritans on 116 123.

We charge £90 per 55-minute session, which should be paid on the day, either by bank transfer, cash or cheque.

Please note: We have a different fee structure for referrals seen via other agencies and expert witness and medico-legal work.
